I should read more about something before playing because I got into myth after akai ito because I still wanted to read something more mythological. My ass thought since there's a character dressed in some sort of miko attire it has to be centered around Japanese mythology, right?
I really enjoyed initial perspective jump, from the main story to that odd black and white point of view that didn't explain anything and just left you with more questions each time, despite how random and unconnected it seemed It keeps you interested and want to know more especially with how short those segments were. It does end up connecting in some way eventually not very satisfactory though.
It had great potential. I wasn't sure what I was getting into but I love meta elements like that. The whole concept of MYTH being a fictional story being written by an actual being with dead people from different universes used as actors. It could've been something really amazing, thought provoking and moving if it didn't try too many things all at once. Not to mention it feels incomplete.
The ending was all over the place and very rushed ending weirdly uprupt just for some three short "answer" chapters than while answering some questions adds new ones as well.
To not get too negative there are things I liked about it, I liked most of the game. Especially initially how we can see Meito's change and improvement. How at first he couldn't stand being around shadows but got more comfortable and during the second loop when he didn't have that at all and was friendly with them from the start I'm a little disappointed that wasn't a bigger point and they didn't really play into that character growth theme at all. I guess that wasn't very positive either. I swear it's a really decent game and I like more about it than I dislike it's just really hard to talk extensively about it when it's rather short and it's easier to complain that just list all the small things I liked about it.
Overall I'd say I recommend it for the journey itself even if it doesn't completely answer every question. I feel like the author might be the only person who gets everything and just failed to connect it all so every reader is able to fully grasp the story only with what's written. The author probably forgot to explain some stuff that were obvious in his head since he made the story.
I don't have much to say about it but I played the prequel which is included in the steam edition of course which is also how I found myth in the first place. I really enjoyed the concept and world building in Aguni. I would definitely love to see a full length vn focused on that world. Definitely a lot more could've been done there. Whenever I'll feel like it I do plan on playing the standalone Aguni in Japanese someday since the version I played got rid of choices and different endings.
Continuing with Fatal Frame's more traditional Japanese/mythological theme I knew I had to play akai ito next. I enjoyed following the flowchart and getting all the endings and seeing alternative choice options.
Luckily for me I ended up on Uzuki's route first which after completing all routes is still my favorite. Uzuki's relationship with Kei worked the best and was the closest this game really came to "girl x girl romance" it supposedly has. I was expecting full on yuri. Kissing and stuff and not a single route even has holding hands. I guess you get blood sucking in some routes which felt a bit like they were supposed to be a substitute for h-scenes especially with that sudden music change very similar to the music that plays during h-scenes in cartagra. I wouldn't say the lack of romance is a bad thing but it's definitely not what I expected.
Fighting scenes are surprisingly engaging and a lot care has been put into them. Not only they occur pretty often there's a lot of different CG variations just for that. Chuunige is calling me louder and louder. I was very close to playing dies irae instead of subahibi now.
As for characters they all have interesting stories and fun personalities that work really well with Kei. Uzuki's my favorite for sure both as a character and as a love interest. She's the only one I felt like she has any chemistry with Kei which is odd considering Yumei is the one on the cover everywhere. It's made to seem like she's the one for Kei but I don't really buy that, she's more like a big sister to care for Kei than a heroine.
I love visual aspects, it shows how big of a budget they had, not sure if the original had that too or it's only for the HD remaster. How you can hear Kei's voice in the menu, blinking sprites and overall the art style especially for backgrounds is amazing.
For reference how far behind I am. Right now it's March 28th and I finished Akai ito on March 10th. It's so over. God please give me the strength to write while I'm playing something not a month later I have no idea what my initial thoughts were and what I'd like to mention.
No Tsuzura or Nozomi cgs, there aren't any I particularly like and I can't think of much more to write.
As much as I love vns and it's what I consume for the most part taking a break with something with gameplay is much appreciated. I wouldn't consider myself a survival horror fan despite playing quite a bit of them. As a firm believer that silent hill is overrated I enjoyed Fatal Frame (Project Zero, I played the European release) a lot. I'm probably going to compare it with silent hill a lot since it's a survival horror I played most recently. Although it's not really fair as I have been always drawn to Fatal Frame for its themes and atmosphere unlike SH.
Gameplay wise it's really simple and easy to get used to even using keyboard on an emulator like I did which might make me seem mental but I doubt I'd do better with a controller. I'm not a fan of action hand to hand combat so I thought camera obscura mechanic is a very cool original way of beating enemies that I enjoyed. Would've enjoyed it more if I figured out you could sprint earlier than halfway through. Given how short it is I can see myself replaying it in the future especially since there's still more to see like optional boss fights and ghosts I might've missed and an entire different ending although I doubt I could do nightmare mode and I saw it online anyway.
Especially compared to silent hill I think FF1's story is great. Older games especially horror I feel like don't have that much plot explained in game and I'm glad that's not the case here. You get quite a bit of cut scenes and a lot of notes, diaries, tapes etc. scattered across the game. The overall story is easy to follow but extensive enough for it to interest the player and make us want to continue uncovering what happened albeit it is very obvious from the start what's happened to Kirie.
I thought it was pretty odd and made no sense for Mafuyu to give up his free life to stay with Kirie I still don't get his motivation really but I like that that's how it ends and Kirie can in a way feel reunited with her unrequited during her life love.
Voice acting. As expected from a Japanese production voice acting is top notch. It's a shame you have to go out of your way to get a patch to be able to play in english with japanese voice acting and most people probably don't bother and have to experience whatever the english dub is. I had the displeasure of hearing it when I wanted to check how far in I was compared to someone else's gameplay. I did hear someone said that FF2 has decent English dub but I don't know if it's the same and I'm oversensitive to bad dubbing or it improved.
FF1 does everything it wanted to do well. I went in expecting great atmosphere and got exactly that. I usually don't drift towards similar works back to back but playing fatal frame I was thinking that I need more of that hence why I played Akai ito next and I have already installed and set up FF2 and I'll probably play it faster than I expected going into it.
The ending. It's not grand nor flashy but it just works in a way I cannot explain. I find it hard to appreciate horror game endings and FF1 gave me a satisfying closure that left me thinking about the game more than the rest of the plot. It's exactly what you could expect. We, as Miku manage to lift the curse and Kirie will continue sealing off evil forces (alone or with Mafuyu depending on the ending). I can't explain why but I really like that final cutscene. It makes me feel in a way I don't usually feel and It's probably going to keep coming back to me for a long time. The souls departing from the mansion finally free.
Tracen Academy. A place for umamusume to learn and improve. Your role as a trainer there is to no matter what help those umas achieve their life-time dreams. Could there be any better game than that.
I want to help each and every one of them (not you, taishin) to fullfill their dreams, beat their rivals, impress their parents, satisfy their fans, make them happy. It is a game like no other. There's so many characters there and while there are ones I'd call my favorites and care more about but I can't help to root and keep my fingers crossed when they race. I end up even warming up to ones I had mixed feelings about once I do their careers (there's still hope for taishin I guess but I'm going to be really upset if I get her instead of anyone else).
Thank you Cygames for making them not only racers but also idols. I've been a love live fan half my life at this point and I've been drawn to that kind of stuff for some reason. There's nothing quite like watching teenagers work really hard for their dreams. I'm tearing up watching we are dreamers. And now I'm remembering how much Chiyono looks up to Maruzen and wanted to win but her petals have already been blown away by wind during the derby. Don't ever give up Chiyono. I'm going to make it my goal to help her beat her. That's going to be my main priority once I get a hang of the new scenario that came out just a few hours ago. I still have yet to try it but I'd really like to take it in and enjoy it slowly so that will have to wait for tomorrow evening unfortunetly. I'm itching to play for the first time in a while so I'm probably going to continue with unity cup tomorrow if I really can't help it.
I'm going to watch every song avaliable in global as of right now and focus on the lyrics available.
I haven't even been playing that much since the last post. I'm a little burned out because I don't think I can make much progress with the shit supports I have and I'm doing auto on jp nonstop. At least there I'm goated. I already got casino drive 2lb and mlb forever young (I'm going to continue pulling for them untill I get to 400 pulls to get another selector ticket so only 23 more or so, hopefully I can get casino to 3lb but I won't cry if I don't I already got lucky enough for not spending a penny. Since she's only going to be usable for this scenario anyway.

By the time I finished writing on anime I watched semi recently MANT came out. I got kitasan black twice from free pulls and lost my savings trying to get Dia and failing. Nothing major I'm still a little burned out and too invested in subahibi to even do my dailies properly. I'm a bad torena but I'll get back into shape soon. At least I got some decent umas for CM11 trained it should go well considering I got first place in group B last time without training specifically for the CM at all like I did this time (first time doing that)
One can guess since I barely posted in February I didn't really finish any vns as I pretty much only replayed danganronpa 2 and togainu. Other than that I have watched quite a bit of anime which I really need to talk more about.
Going in order I finished gridman first. All of it both gridman and dynazenon and then its crossover movie. I liked the first series by far the most. Akane carries the show. I believe it's the first thing with kaiju I have ever seen. Cool. I wouldn't mind checking out more a shame there doesn't seem to be many anime with them which I find odd considering how popular kaiju were in Japan to the point it managed to even get global audience. Anyhow I usually don't have much to say about anime especially when I'm trying to come up with something to say over a month later. They have some really cool figures though.
I'm definitely getting this someday.
There's no cool dynezenon stuff on the other hand which I guess I'm not surprised. I never really heard of it before and I have definitely seen people talk and post about gridman. It definitely had potential to stay in my head more but didn't manage to pull me in fully. Maybe couple more episodes to build tension and stakes would've helped. This time too my favorite characters are otaku losers.
Gridman universe was a cool addition. Nothing more nothing less. I had fun which is not that easy to achieve with movies. Overall I'm glad I watched some newer mecha. Now I want gridman yuri figures after looking through what they made (I swear I'm not a yuritard).

I have finally got it in me and watched Hellsing ultimate. I watched the original couple years ago and all I remembered is how much I fucking hate jazz and can't stand that opening and dead corpse in episode 2 which now that I think about I don't think happens in the manga. Then I read the manga last year which I did like more but still not very much. I much prefer first three volumes. What's most memorable for me is how unhinged author's notes at the end of each volume are. Thank you Hirano Kouta for the boob song. Alas Ultimate is in my opinion the ultimate way of experience Hellsing (although I have to give points to the manga for it's art style it's really impressive how he managed to get it so intricate while from what I know not having enough assistants. I'm still not a Hellsing fan.

I'm not really a SoL guy so it's an especially big feat when it manages to really interest me. Ichigo mashimaro is for sure one of the best slice of life I have seen and is going to say with me for a while. Fuck every Miu hater she makes the show. Stupid. I want to be like her when I grow up.
I can't really remember in what exact order I have seen all those and I don't have patient to check with MAL but sword art online. In the big 2026 I have unfortunately reminded myself how much of a sao fan I used to be (still am) dammit. Back then when memory defrag was still up I was pretty obsessed with it. Along llsif definitely the first mobile game I ever cared that much about. I am one of those people that will defend sao and how it's not really that bad and it's not and I even forgot what it got hate for. Probably for being for cringe teenagers (like not all anime are like that). I am a firm believer of Suguha being the best character which is important for the point I'm going to make (she is absolutely irrelevant to sword art online II and ordinary scale which is what I watched last month).
I liked SaoII not more than the first one I think. I have my teenage self to thank for liking it so much. Sinon is an interesting character and I'm glad the plot focused mostly on her, Kirito and death gun. Why is Kirito so cool with pretending to be a girl. Serious question. I remembered him more edgy and lone wolf type why does he act like that. I can get pretending in front of Sinon to get help from her and since correcting her would've just been awkward but there was no reason for him to pose like that for those guys?
He's clearly enjoying it and as funny as I found it while watching I don't blame him. I get him. I like making female characters in mmos and I wouldn't pretend to be a girl (probably) but if someone assumed I was one I wouldn't mind playing along. Do kids these days still do cringe anime roleplay saying arigato ohayo and what not?
I like how serious ggo arc was and I really got invested and if I didn't have other things to do I probably would've watched it all in one sitting. Was not expecting Sinon's friend to go insane and get all possessive with her. I'm not going to forget it soon. I wouldn't say I like him but I do appreciate and enjoy characters like this.
Next three episodes of looking for a legendary weapon or something was boring I was so sure the entire next half is going to be like that thank God I was far from correct. I was really suffering through those few episodes. What starts after that is much more interesting and pretty emotional and maybe got me to not dislike Asuna as much. I didn't really mind the story following her and Yuuki. I don't remember anything of the sort from the first series and if I'm correct this marks the start of girls being yuri for Asuna which so far has only happened twice but it's interesting it happened more than once.
THEY'RE OFFICIALG MARRIED. Oddly enough I don't dislike asuna x kirito and I find them endearing in offline acting like a real couple. I find myself conflicted seeing Asuna being Yuuki's wife. I could've liked her more probably if she was around longer. Pretty disappointing to have a tragic character like that and only let us know her for so short you can't really get attached. I'm looking forward how that's going to feel like in light novel form which I am getting for sure.
I really went on on the second season so I won't say much about ordinar scale also because I don't have that much to say. I really liked the animation. Another girl has acted very suspiciously towards Asuna and then went and died for good.
I started azumanga before sword art online and I still havent finished it. I'm barely halfway through as of right now but I'm not rushing. I would've finished it long ago but I'm watching it with my boyfriend from time to time. It's exactly the kind of show I need right now. Tomo is best girl easily although they're all dumb and make me wonder how they passed high school exams (which actually got explained in Tomo's case, she reminds me of myself).
It's another slice of life, school life I don't have much to say. I'm enjoying it immensely. Never change Tomo.
I fucked up big with how rare I post here and now I have 10 posts due where I barely even remember what I thought about something. I seriously need to try and write every day at least draft my experience. Anyway probably more than a week has passed since I wrote the rest of this post. I came here to add two more shows I finished in the last 2 (?) months now.
Id-0 was whatever. Had potential probably I couldn't really get invested due to it being all CGI, it didn't bother me like it bothers me in hybrid cg/2D stuff but I can't really get immersed when it looks like that. Robots not big enough to scratch my mecha itch. 6/10
Lastly and the reason why I put off publishing this post for so long because I only watched the last (5th) movie a few days ago. Code Geass Boukoku no Akito. I thought after the first two movies that it had great potential and it was generally fun to watch. Code Geass is still code Geass albeit not even half as great as the original series. Worst thing is that the last part was easily the worst one. Not very engaging or interesting I had to rate it lower than the rest, picture drama for it was more fun. Why Polish representation are Romani. They thought to themselves, we're in Poland. What represents Poland? Romani. What did they mean by that? And who decided it would be a good ending for all of them to end up living with them in a forest near Vistula. Who wouldn't want to live like that getting molested by babas. What did they mean by that??
Since I'm talking about anime I'll let myself gush over oshi no ko which is definitely the closest to a masterpiece a modern anime has gotten (from what I have seen). It's far from it but it's so entertaining. I can't remember last time when while watching a seasonal show I actually wanted to watch the next episode right away and was bummed I had to wait for a week. Season 3 is currently airing. We're 2 episodes away from the end of this season I am still not over episode 7. I was so sure Akane is dead I stopped breathing when she was falling. I cried with her my god.
